New features for AI native software development

Originally announced this summer, these features will be generally available by October:

• Give agents the full picture of your codebase: Semantic code search across GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket gives agents the context they need to write better code. Currently in Beta.

• Put AI agents to work on your code: Assign tasks to Cursor or Claude, launch agents directly from Jira, or trigger them with automation rules.

• Capture work and hand it off without leaving chat: Create, update, assign, and hand off work from Slack or Microsoft Teams.

• See what your agents are working on: Review active and completed agent sessions from the Jira For You page.

• A built in agent that handles triage for you: Get automatic field, priority, and assignee suggestions.
