A faster, more consistent board for company-managed software spaces
If your software space is company-managed, your board now matches the modern board we shipped for team-managed spaces. It’s 22% faster to load, smoother to scroll, holds a lot more work, and gives you more control over how everything’s laid out.
This is the same board you already use. Your workflows, filters, permissions, and configuration all carry over unchanged – this is the same experience on a faster foundation, not a migration. It’s rolling out now, with nothing you need to turn on.
How it works
A board that scrolls infinitely – and no more 5,000 work item limit. The board loads faster, scrolls smoothly however much work it holds, and the old 5,000 work item cap is gone. Big boards now stay usable.
Subtasks are now first-class work on the board. Drag and drop subtasks between columns and swimlanes, edit them inline and reorder them freely, just like any other work item. Epics can show as cards too, so bigger pieces of work sit right alongside everything else.
Way more ways to filter and group your work. The board supports far more filter options than before. Search for the filters you need, pin your favorites, and keep up to 5 right on the board for one-click access. You can also group by label, priority, assignee, Project, or category to zero in on what matters to you.
More control over columns and cards. Set column limits and choose fixed or flexible column widths. On cards, show days in column, add card colors, and surface custom number fields – so the board shows exactly what your team tracks.
Views that stick, and a default your team can share. Save your own views, run a backlog alongside your board, set resolution automatically by column – and admins can save a default board configuration so everyone starts from the same, sensible setup.
One board, everywhere. Because company-managed and team-managed boards now share the same foundation, features behave the same way wherever you work – and we can keep improving all of it at once.
This is rolling out now and we're still listening. Have feedback or missing a capability? Use the Give feedback button on your board, or tell us here.
FAQs
Question | Answer |
|---|---|
What is a single-space board? How can I tell? | If your company-managed board filter includes work items from only one space, this is considered a single-space board. If your board filter includes work items from more than one space, this is considered a multi-space board. Board filters that reference ALL work (i.e. from all spaces) is considered global or an unscoped board. Both multi and global-scoped boards will continue to remain on the classic experience until we migrate those in a future milestone. |
Does this require setup or migration? | No, this is rolling out automatically to Jira Cloud sites now. Sites on bundled release tracks get it on their standard schedule (sandbox first, then production). |
When will multi-space be supported? | We are targeting rolling to kick off this quarter and our goal is to have multi and global scoped boards unified by the end of the calendar year. |
How can we give feedback or request improvements? | Use the Give feedback button directly on your board, or post on our community post. Our team is reading and responding. |
